IHM Client Fahlesson Signs With Boden

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Mattias Fahlesson, has signed with Bodens HF in Sweden's HockeyEttan (Division 1). The 6’3, 205-pound left shot center is from Umeå, Sweden. Fahlesson was born February 13, 2000, and split time last season between IF Björklöven J20 Elit and Vännäs HC in HockeyEttan. Fahlesson will now join a Bodens HF club that was part of AllEttan Norra, last season, which includes the top teams from Division 1 North. The team's arena, Björknäshallen, seats over 4,000 fans. Bodens HF also has their eyes set on a promotion to Allsvenskan, leading into the 2021-2022 season.

The big center finished second in scoring for IF Björklöven, with a stat line of 23GP-12G-18A-30PTS. Fahlesson’s production earned him a loan-out to Vännäs HC, who compete at Sweden’s third-highest level. Fahlesson played 11 Games for the club, recording 2G-2A-4PTS. The longtime Björklöven product has been a point-per-game, or better, player at the J18 and J20 levels, the past three years. Fahlesson compiled a two-year stat line of 27GP-11G-14A-23PTS at the J18 Allsvenskan level. In 2015-2016, Fahlesson competed for Västerbotten at the famed Swedish TV-pucken showcase tournament, for the country’s top 15 year old players. Fahlesson also wore an “A” for his club. In 2019, he made his debut in Sweden’s second-highest level, Allsvenskan, with his home club of IF Björklöven.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

"We are very excited about this opportunity for Mattias; still a young player carving-out his way into the senior game. Bodens HF is one of the top organizations in HockeyEttan, and Mattias will be able to develop his game in a very professional environment. It will be very enriching to follow along as Mattias plays his first full season with the A-lag squad."

Bodens HF Sports Director, Urban Åström, noted,

"Mattias is a hard-working and ambitious young player. He is smart and skilled, and he has great size. He wants to develop, and he's got the potential to do so. We are confident Boden is a great next step for him."

Mattias added,

"I'm very excited to have signed my first senior contract, with Boden HF. It feels like the right decision, and I have heard many great things about Boden, from the organization, to the fans.

It's been a pleasure working with IHM. They have helped me continue my hockey career at a high level, and it been a very easy and fast process."
