IHM Welcomes CHL Star Maxim Maltsev
International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Russian forward, Maxim Maltsev, of Yunost Minsk in the Belarus Extraleague, and also, Champions Hockey League. The 5’8, 170 pound center/winger was born February 6, 1995, and is a right shot. Maltsev is from Tyumen, Russia, near Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, and Omsk. His team, Yunost Minsk, won the Extraleague Regular Season Championship, the Salei Cup, and the Belarus Extraleague Cup. Maltsev is now looking to take his game to Western Europe.
Maltsev led his MHL clubs in two of his four seasons (Serebryanye Lvy St. Petersburg & SKA-1946 St. Petersburg). In his career, he scored 129 Points in 216 Games Played. In 2016-2017, Maltsev won the World Winter Unidversiade Gold Medal with Team Russia, and was named VHL Prospect of the Week, twice, in his professional debut season with SKA-Neva St. Petersburg. That year, he was third on his team in scoring, as a rookie, in Russia’s second-best pro league. This season, Maltsev finished with a stat line of: 48GP-9G-12A-21PTS. More impressive, was that he led Yunost Minsk in scoring for the Champions Hockey League, with a stat line of: 8GP-2G-5A-7PTS. The CHL is comprised of 32 of the top European clubs from the Swedish Hockey League, Finland’s Liiga, NLA in Switzerland, the DEL in Germany, Czech Extraliga, and more. Yunost Minsk went 3-3, eventually being ousted in a Round One loss.
