IHM Client Anthony Rodriguez Signs With OKC Blazers

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, and American forward, Anthony Rodriguez, has signed with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the NA3HL. The 2000-born Las Vegas native stands 5'10 and weighs 180 pounds. The left shot winger is a versatile player with experience at center and defense, as well. Last season, Rodriguez was the captain of the expansion Las Vegas Thunderbirds, in the Tier-II Junior A Western States Hockey League. He joins the Blazers organization in his final season of junior eligibility.

Rodriguez finished the year with a stat line of 45GP-18G-12A-30Pts, before the season was cut short. The T-Birds were heading towards the playoffs, which would have been back-to-back appearances for Rodriguez. Formerly of the Long Beach Bombers, Rodriguez's final game of the 2019-2020 season was his 100th career junior hockey game. He increased his goal total by 10, in his second season, and finished 5th on the roster in scoring. Rodriguez's minor hockey training came at the hands of the Las Vegas Storm and Arizona Bobcats programs.

Oklahoma City is in their first season of NA3HL competition. The city has long been home to junior hockey, and the Blazers franchise. The new-look Blazers feature a top-notch coaching staff, good facilities, and an affiliation with the Wichita Falls Warriors of the North American Hockey League. Rodriguez is hoping this platform gives him opportunities at the collegiate level, or possibly even in Europe, for the following season.

OKC Blazers Head Coach & General Manager, Josh Berge, said,

"This signing came together quickly, as IHM contacted us just within the last week or so. We are very excited to add a veteran junior player, who we feel can play in a variety of roles for our club. Anthony arrived to OKC, this week, and I can already see glimpses of what should be a very solid member of our deep forward group. Anthony is familiar with some players on our squad, so I think he will have an easy transition and be able to make an impact right away."

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

"Anthony is a great pick up for any Tier-III Junior A roster at this point in the off-season, and OKC is getting a player that can chip-in in a number of ways. OKC is looking to make some waves in their first year of NA3HL hockey, and we feel very confident that as a staff and organization, they will offer Anthony more than enough to help him continue to climb the hockey ladder."

CONGRATULATIONS, anthony!
