IHM Client Brett Beauvais Signs With Montpellier

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce Canadian client, Brett Beauvais, has signed with the Montpellier Vipers in France Division 1. The 5'11, 185-pound left shot defenseman hails from Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Beauvais was born October 24, 1994, and is making his European debut. Last year, he split time between the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League and the Rapid City Rush of the East Coast Hockey League.

Beauvais played three seasons for Ridley College prior to moving to the US to play two years in the North American Hockey League for the now-defunct Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings. The two-way rearguard recorded 59 Points in two seasons, including a All-North Division Team nod. Then, a season spent in Western Canada, in the British Columbia Hockey League (Junior A), resulted in a breakout 66-Point campaign, which led the entire league for defensemen. This earned Beauvais Top Defenseman & First Team All-Star honors, in addition to a scholarship to play NCAA Division-I Ice Hockey at Bemidji State University, where he played for three seasons before transferring to Robert Morris University.

His ECHL résumé includes stops in Kansas City, Greenville, Adirondack, & Rapid City. Last year, in the COVID-19 crunch of several fewer professional teams in the US, and injury in the first game of the season led to a re-assignment to the SPHL, later in the year. In 26 Games Played, Beauvais registered 9 Points for Knoxville.

Montpellier is located in Southern France, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is well-known worldwide for it's historical architecture, beaches, weather, and overall beauty. The Vipers play their home games at the Patinoire Végapolis. Beauvais will arrive with high expectations from new Head Coach, Eric Labrosse, a fellow Canadian.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

We had several conversations with clubs throughout Europe, regarding Brett, and we are very happy with all that Montpellier will offer. It is genuinely one of the best locations to play hockey in all of Europe, and Brett is arriving with a fantastic opportunity to be a top defenseman in the league. We are very excited to track his progress with the Vipers, this year, and see what doors it opens for 2022.

CONGRATULATIONS, brett!
