IHM Client Christoffer Juvas Commits To Albertus Magnus College

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce Swedish client, Christoffer Juvas, has committed to Albertus Magnus College in NCAA Division-III. The right shot defenseman is from Stockholm, Sweden, and measures 6'0, 187 pounds. Juvas was born February 12, 1999, and split this past season between Hammarby IF in HockeyEttan and Trångsunds IF in HockeyTvåan.

Juvas has experience playing North American hockey, as he spent a year and a half in the Western States Hockey League, Tier-II Junior A. In 67 career WSHL games, Juvas accumulated 15G-59A-74PTS. The point-producing rearguard spent time with the Long Beach Bombers, Las Vegas Thunderbirds, and Ogden Mustangs. Juvas was in-line for a second-consecutive WSHL Thorne Cup Finals appearance, if not for the COVID-19 cancellation of the 2019-2020 end-of-season tournament. Prior to honing his game overseas, Juvas had played in Sweden's J20 SuperElit for Örebro HK and Leksands IF. He also played 8 games for Tyresjö/Hanviken SK in HockeyEttan, as a 19 year-old. Juvas also played for Huddinge IK, and his parent club is Tyresö HK.

Albertus Magnus College is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The program is entering its third of NCAA Division-III existence. The Falcons are coached by Kyle Wallack, and play out of the Ralph Walker Skating Rink. Juvas will join IHM client and fellow countryman, Fabian Hast, in the Fall. Coach Wallack was an Assistant at Quinnipiac University when he recruited and coached IHM President, Chris White. The private liberal arts college has nearly 1,500 students enrolled.

Christoffer commented,

I’m super excited to announce that I have committed to Albertus Magnus College. Albertus was the first school that I talked to after Chris White opened their eyes to me, two years ago. After coming back to Sweden, and spending this uncertain time at home, I am now ready to go back to America and further my education while playing NCAA hockey. Conversations with the coaching staff and school administration have been nothing but a pleasure, and they have been very helpful with the entire process. I am really grateful to the IHM team who helped me find this opportunity where I will be spending the upcoming four years of my life.

Coach Wallack added,

We are looking forward to Christoffer growing along with our program. He is not only a quality hockey player, but he is a dedicated and positive young man that will bring value to the daily life of our campus. We were targeting a hard-working right shot defenseman, and Christoffer fit our needs. He scored at an above a point-per-game clip in the US, and has played at a very high level in Sweden. I think he will bring a lot of immeasurables to the table, and develop into a leader for our team. IHM has shown us quality players year-to-year, and we're proud to continue to build that relationship.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, noted,

This is a particularly proud announcement, for me, personally. I have tracked Christoffer's game since 2018, when I recruited him to come play junior hockey in the US. I have watched his progress and development not only on the ice or in the gym, but off the ice, as well. His maturity and work ethic will be keys to his success for the Falcons and in the classroom. It's always a nice bonus to be able to work with a great hockey guy like Coach Wallack, who I have known for over 20 years. I'm eagerly looking forward to being able to tune into Albertus Magnus' games to watch Christoffer, this Fall.
