IHM Client Fabian Hast Signs With Tyringe

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Fabian Hast, has signed with Tyringe SoSS in HockeyEttan (Sweden's Division 1). The 6’1, 196lb left shot forward was born on April 25, 1999 in Landskrona, Sweden. Fabian played for the Tønsberg Vikings in Norway2, last season. Earlier this off-season, Fabian had committed to Albertus Magnus College, in NCAA Division-III. Given the current situation with both athletics and academics, he decided to stay home and sign with Tyringe Hockey.

Hast was groomed in the Malmö Redhawks organization, in southwest Sweden. He also spent some time with IF Troja-Ljungby and Halmstad Hammers HC. As an Estonian passport holder, Hast has represented the country in international competitions such as the U20 World Junior Championships and the most recent Olympic Games Qualifications. Hast targeted a return to Tønsberg, this year, but quickly changed his mind upon receiving an offer in HockeyEttan.

Tyringe SoSS plays out of Österås Ishall in Hässelholm. The location is between Malmö, Växjö, and Helsingborg, in Southwestern Sweden. The club has also signed another IHM client, in US forward, Matthew Cuce. Tyringe Hockey had a down year in 2019-2020, and will be counting on the pair to help their offense improve on a franchise-worst season of production.

Tyringe Hockey Head Coach, Magnus Rahm, commented,

"Fabian is a fast and agile forward who is hard to meet. He also knows some of the team from before, which makes it easier for him to get into the group; where we think he fits perfectly. With Fabian in the squad, we get even more options in our forward group. Fabian is also a player who is good on the penalty kill."

Fabian added,

"IHM had a great conversation with Tyringe, and after hearing that Tyringe was interested in me, it was an easy choice. IHM has continued to provide me with options throughout the Summer, and I am very grateful for this opportunity. I'm very happy to have signed with Tyringe. They play in a great league, and it's a good step for me. Hopefully, I can take an important role in the team, and take the next step in my hockey career."

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, noted,

"It's been a whirlwind off-season for Fabian, with the initial plan being NCAA. We were able to secure a fantastic situation for him at that level, but we determined the risk was too high, and the reward too low, this season. Thus, we decided Fabian should return to Norway with his sights set on personal development. Fortunately, our relationship with Tyringe allowed for this wonderful opportunity to arise. I think this last-minute change is going to pay off big, in the long-run, for Fabian. He's a talented player, but maybe more importantly, he's a very hard-working player with a positive team-first attitude."

CONGRATULATIONS, Fabian!
