IHM Client Hampus Olsson Signs With HC Vita Hästen
International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Hampus Olsson, has signed with HC Vita Hästen in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan! The 6'5, 209-pound left shot winger was born on April 20, 1995 in Ängelholm, Sweden. The Rögle BK youth product played for Tranås AIF in HockeyEttan, last season.
Olsson played his entire youth career until the age of 18 with Rögle BK, in southwestern Sweden. The club is regarded as one of the top developmental organizations in the country, and led to three fantastic opportunities in 2014. Olsson was honored to represent his country on the U19 National Team in some international friendlies, made his HockeyAllsvenskan debut with his parent club Rögle, and then signed with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (Canadian Major Junior). Upon his return to Sweden in 2015, he played two seasons in HockeyEttan for KRIF (Kallinge/Ronneby IF), before joining Södertälje SK in HockeyAllsvenskan. Olsson played 25 games that season, before being loaned back to KRIF.
In the past three seasons, Olsson has progressed from 15 to 26 to 34 Points. From 2018-2020, he played for IF Troja-Ljungby, who were promoted from HockeyEttan to HockeyAllsvenskan, this season. With Tranås AIF, Olsson recorded career bests in Goals and Points (39GP-13G-21A-34PTS). Olsson was also named an Assistant Captain. In the past two seasons, the big rugged power forward has only missed one contest, while being a plus-rated player in every season of HockeyEttan play.
HC Vita Hästen Head Coach, Tony Zabel, says,
Hampus is a great power forward who most recently came from games with Tranås AIF and Troja Ljungby in Division 1. Hampus is heavy to face, a good skater, and challenges towards goal. It will be exciting to see if Hampus can bring his game from Division 1 to HockeyAllsvenskan.
International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,
We couldn't be more excited for Hampus. He had a career year, and rightfully garnered interest around Europe, this off-season. However, the opportunity with HC Vita Hästen is a great place for him to be as a 26 year-old that continues to get better with each passing season. From an IHM standpoint, it is our first HockeyAllsvenskan signing, and one we will never forget. Hampus has been a great client and an extremely loyal supporter of IHM. We can't wait until August, when he reports to the club.
