IHM Client Kevin Roswall Drafted By Durham

by Chris White

Congratulations to International Hockey Management client, Kevin Roswall, who was selected 7th Overall (1st Round) in the Greater Metro Hockey League 2022 Draft, by the reigning South Division Champions, the Durham Roadrunners. The 2001-born Swede is a natural defenseman that showed some offensive upside towards the end of the 2021-2022 USPHL Premier season with the Las Vegas Thunderbirds, as he moved up to forward. Durham finished with a 34-4 record, last year, and lost in the GMHL Finals to the Temiscaming Titans. The Roadrunners moved up the draft board to select Roswall, who will be playing his first season in Canada.

Durham Head Coach, Derrick Smith, a 10+ year NHL veteran, is leading the turnaround in Oshawa. Prior to COVID, in 2019-2020, the Roadrunners finished 8th in the South Division, with a 16-26 record. Smith took an immediate liking to Roswall, and did not hesitate to select him early in the draft. Last season, the 5'11, 176-pound left shot from Landskrona finished with 15 Points in 45 Games, including 3 Points in 4 Playoff appearances.

congrats to kevin and the roadrunners!
