IHM Client Logan Mick Signs With Surahammars

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce that Canadian forward, Logan Mick, has signed with Surahammars IF, in Sweden's HockeyEttan (Division I). The Armstrong, British Columbia native was born July 25, 1996, measuring 5'11 and 185 pounds. The left shot winger played for Åmåls SK, last season, in Sweden's HockeyTvåan (Division 2).

Mick's rookie season overseas came off three seasons at the collegiate level. In 2018-2019, Mick suited up for the University of Lethbridge, in Canada's top university league, USports. The two seasons prior, he was at Quinnipiac University, in Connecticut, competing in the ECAC of NCAA Division-I. Mick's developmental roots include stops with the Brooks Bandits (Alberta Junior Hockey League), and the Langley Rivermen, Salmon Arm Sivlerbacks, and Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League. Prior to his lengthy Junior A career, Mick attended Pursuit of Excellence Prep Academy.

Last season, Mick accumulated a stat line of 31GP-28G-37A-65PTS for Åmåls. His points total paced the HockeyTvåan Västra region, while placing him 7th in the country in scoring. Mick is now looking to climb the European hockey ladder, by seeking opportunities at a higher level. Logan's father, Troy, is a former WHL and ECHL player, in addition to becoming a long-time General Manager and Head Coach (WHL & BCHL), and now, runs the Philadelphia Hockey Club of the USPHL.

Surahammars IF is currently sitting in the 12th and final spot of ATG HockeyEttan Västra. Despite their 0-4 early-season record, there is hope. First off, the signing of Logan and another player (Christopher Udd). Secondly, their 12 Goals Against are 4th-best in the division. Thus, an injection of offense could right the ship with plenty of games left on the schedule. Surahammar is located approximately 130km west of Stockholm, near Västerås.

Surahammar's Sports Manager, Jörgen Mähler, commented,

"I am convinced that Logan will add a little extra edge to the squad. It is nice that this recruitment, after a close dialogue and hard work, has now come to fruition. Now we can raise the level further in both training and matches."

Logan says,

"I see it as a fantastic opportunity to show myself in a good way and be able to produce at a higher level. I am a real competitive person that can play in all types of situations, and in most positions. My strengths are the speed and my shot. I'm looking forward to getting started with the team, winning, and meeting the guys in Surahammar.

When I switched over to IHM the biggest thing for me was to feel valued; to have a team behind me that truly believes in my ability & the betterment of my career. Since day one, it’s felt nothing short of that. The communication has been exceptional. I have nothing but positive things to say about IHM & the professionalism they’ve showcased during such uncertain times. I’m grateful & excited to continue our relationship moving forward."

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, added,

"We are very pleased to have come to an agreement between Logan and Sura, in a rather short period of time. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to go back to the drawing board, and I think this opportunity is exactly what IHM and Logan were hoping for. Sura is going to get a player that proved himself as a top scorer, last year, and is hungry to do the same in HockeyEttan."
