International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Eric Lövstrand, has re-signed with Osby IK, in Sweden’s HockeyTvåan (Division 2). The 6’1, 185-pound left shot can play center or wing, and was born May 3, 1999. The Nyköping native is entering his second season of pro hockey.

Last year, OIK finished 3rd in HockeyTvåan Södra B, with a record of 11-8-3. This allowed them to qualify for AllTvåan Södra, where they went 6-7-1, good for 6th place in the group. This meant they moved on to the PlayOff inför oval till HockeyEttan, which would eventually give them a chance to promote to Division 1, or HockeyEttan. OIK defeated their first opponent, Grästorps IK, 2-0. Then, they earned their spot in Kvalserie Södra till HockeyEttan, where they went on to face Division 1 clubs Tyringe SoSS and Borås HC. OIK lost both matches, prior to the remainder of playoffs being cancelled in mid-March. The prior season, OIK promoted from Division 3. 

Lövstrand led all Osby IK rookies in scoring, posting a stat line of: 34GP-12G-8A-20PTS. He also played 6 games on American soil, at the junior level, for the WSHL reigning-champion El Paso Rhinos, recording 4G-4A-8PTS. It was not his first trip across the Atlantic, as he spent the 2018-2019 season in the WSHL with the Long Beach Bombers, registering a stat line of: 59GP-21G-36A-57PTS. Prior to heading overseas, Lövstrand was a standout with Nyköpings HF J20, where he led his team with 55 Points, and finished 7th in all of Sweden’s J20 Division 1 in Scoring.

Eric commented, 

"I'm very happy to be back in Osby. I came into the off-season with an open mind about next year, but I feel at home with OIK, and I want to continue to develop and produce with this club. I would like to thank IHM for their support, and I'm excited to get back on the ice."

I expect Eric to have a breakout season, this year, as the club puts more trust in him, and counts on him to produce. OIK has be on the upswing in recent years, and it’s a great fit for a young player that is looking to continue to move up the ladder."
