International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

Markus is a young player with a bright future that will have the opportunity with SCUI to develop and adapt to the senior game. He's already showing signs of promise, and some small adjustments could lead to a nice progression in the coming years. SCUI is a great location with a staff that has a lot of experience and connections, so we are very happy about this signing.
