IHM Client Matthew Genter Signs With OKC Blazers
International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Matthew Genter, has signed with the Oklahoma City Blazers in the NA3HL. The Southern California native stands 6’0, and weighs 180 pounds. Last year, he suited up for the perennial Western States Hockey League powerhouse Ogden Mustangs. Genter was born April 27, 2001.
Genter’s 12-0 record in 2019-2020 pushed his WSHL and junior career record to 24-2, with a 2.35 Goals Against Average and .902 Save Percentage. Prior to his move to the junior ranks, Genter was a standout for the Everett Jr. Silvertips, in Washington. Oklahoma City bench boss, Josh Berge, is the former Head Coach of the Valencia Flyers in the WSHL, and is very familiar with Genter’s junior career history. Valencia was a rival of the Long Beach Bombers, Genter’s team his rookie season, in 2018-2019.
International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,
“Matthew has put up strong numbers for two of the top teams in the past two seasons. This year, he looks to take another step forward and carry the load in OKC. The coaching staff have a lot of experience at higher levels, and the contacts to help Matthew climb the junior hockey ladder, if he proves himself worthy. Matthew is a very athletic goaltender that competes hard, and is entering a crucial year as a 19 year-old goaltender. We are eager to follow along as Matthew and the Blazers kick-off their season, next month.”
Oklahoma City Blazers Head Coach, Josh Berge, added,
“We just got Matthew onto the ice, here in OKC, and we are very pleased with what we are seeing. It’s one thing to get a good recommendation, and see the numbers, but you’re always excited to see the player in person. Matthew has lived up to the expectations, so far."
