IHM Client Oscar Berghult Signs With Malungs IF

International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Oscar Berghult, has signed with Malungs IF in HockeyEttan, Sweden’s Division 1. The 6’2, 198-pound left shot center/wing was born May 3, 1999. Last season, Beghult spent the majority of the season with Rimbo IF in HockeyTvåan, Sweden’s Division 2.

Berghult is a veteran of 37 HockeyEttan games, since the 2018-2019 season. Last season, Berghult played 10 games with Wings HC Arlanda, while he played 27 with Vallentuna BK, the year prior. In the past two seasons, Berghult has recorded 33 points in 32 Division 2 games. The Stockholm area native was also was over a point-per-game in J20 Elit and J18 Elit with Vallentuna BK. Berghult also represented his Stockholm Nord region at the famed TV-pucken tournament, in 2014-2105.

Malungs IF plays in HockeyEttan Västra, and finished the season with a 17-23 record. The club has been competing in Division 1 the past two seasons. It has been a quick and steady rise since the 2014-2015 season, when the club was playing in Division 3. Malung is in Dalarna County, about 50 kilometers east of the Norway border.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented, 

"Oscar is a big, young two-way center that has shown success at various levels, and is looking to prove himself as a full-time HockeyEttan player. Malungs IF provides a great fit for Oscar. I am familiar with a few of their players, and I think Oscar will assimilate well into this young roster. It's an important year for Oscar, and we feel this situation is going to provide him a strong platform for his individual development. It's will be exciting to follow his progress, and that of the team, throughout the season."
