IHM Client Urbanec Breaks WSHL All-Time Points Record

by Chris White

International Hockey Management would like to congratulate client, Tomáš Urbanec, who has broken the Western States Hockey League’s All-Time Points Record. The Zlín, Czech Republic native eclipsed the 351-point mark set by Jakob Kranabetter, on February 7, 2020, for the El Paso Rhinos, against the Northern Colorado Eagles. The 1999-born winger came into the league as a 15 year-old with the Long Beach Bombers, with whom he played for five seasons. This year, he started the year with the Las Vegas Thunderbirds, before a post-Showcase trade to El Paso.

Urbanec was already the league’s All-Time Leading Goal Scorer, and is also set to become the WSHL All-Time Games Played Leader, on Sunday. His production and longevity are both worthy of much recognition. His 352nd WSHL point came at 14:55 of the 1st Period on a highlight reel Power Play Goal. Now, Urbanec will have his eyes set on one of the only pieces of WSHL hardware that he hasn’t earned - the Thorne Cup. Urbanec has over a point-per-game in WSHL Thorne Cup Playoffs, and the El Paso Rhinos are looking for a championship three-peat!

Congrats and continued success to IHM client, Tomáš Urbanec, as he finishes his long, storied junior career!
