IHM Client Victor Cubars Signs With Kumla
International Hockey Management is proud to announce that client, Victor Cubars, has signed with Kumla HC in Sweden's HockeyEttan! The Hvidovre-born left shot winger is a dual-citizen (Latvia), and played for Rødovre Mighty Bulls in Denmark's top Metal Ligaen, last season. The 6'2, 194-pound power forward was born August 22, 2000.
Victor finished the season with 3 Points in 13 Games for Rødovre. He also added 9 Points in 6 Games for the Hvidovre U20 team, and 7 Goals in 2 Games for Hvidovre in Denmark II. In 2019-2020, Cubars was 4th in Goals (12) for Mälmo Redhawks J20 SuperElit, while totaling 20 Points in 32 Games. In 2017, Cubars represented Denmark at the U18 World Junior Championships (5 Points in 5 Games), then returned to the national team for the U20 World Junior Championship in 2018. Victor's father, Sergejs, was a World Junior Championship and World Championship member for Latvia. He also played over 500 career games in Denmark's Metal Ligaen. Cubars has play 85 Games in Metal Ligaen, recording 18 Points.
Kumla HC finished the 2020-2021 season with a record of 13-19-6-2 in the Västra region. This was narrowly good enough to avoid relegation play. Although, Kumla finished above Linden Hockey (1st) and Surahammars IF (3rd) in the regular season, before both teams make miraculous turnarounds in the second half. Kumla is located a little more than 200km west of Stockholm, near Örebrö. The city is home to roughly 22,000 citizens. The Black Bulls play their home games at ICA Maxi Arena. Eight former Kumla players were in HockeyAllsvenskan, last year, including IHM client Jesper Alasaari and the SHL's Timrå IK-signed Jacob Blomqvist. Two Kumla alumni, both goalies, also played in the KHL, this past season.
Victor said,
Working with IHM has been good for me! I called them and they were very nice to me. We started working together, and in just some days they found opportunities. The communication is also good, there is information coming your way all the time. I’m excited about my signing for Kumla, and I think the club can be a good place for me. I can’t wait to get there and start the season.

Victor just recently joined the IHM Team, but we were quickly able to secure him a position in the ultra-competitive 2021 HockeyEttan market, in Sweden. Victor is a young player, but he has a lot of valuable experience in Metal Ligaen, International Tournament Play, and J20 SuperElit.
