IHM Welcomes Belarus Champion Kirill Markevich
International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Belarusian forward, Kirill Markevich. The left shot winger was born December 23, 1996. Born in Novogrudok, Belarus, the 5’11, 183-pounder has played in Russia, USA, Sweden, and Belarus. Last season, he played for Yunost Minsk, in the highest pro level Belarus Extraleague. Markevich is looking to play in Europe, this upcoming season.
Yunost Minsk won the Belarusian Championship, this year, while also competing in the Champions Hockey League, against Europe’s other top leagues’ championship teams. In 2014-2015, Markevich was Belarus’ top scorer at the U18 World Junior Championships. The same season, he played for CSKA Moscow U20 in Russia’s top junior league, the MHL. The following season, he was the second leading scorer on the U20 Team Belarus squad. In 2016-2017, he made is North American debut, scoring 91 Points in 42 Games Played, while earning team MVP honors for the Long Beach Bombers, and also was named to the WSHL Playoffs All-Star Team. In 2017-2018, Markevich made his professional debut, in Sweden, for Trollhättan HC. Over the course of two seasons, Markevich tallied 52 Points in 63 Games Played, including leading his team in scoring, his second season (35 Points).
