IHM Welcomes Latvian Forward Artjoms Lapiks

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Latvian forward, Artjoms Lapiks.  The Riga native stands 6'2, weighing 200 pounds, and is a left shot. Born May 15, 2000, Lapiks has represented his home country several times, including the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Junior Championships. Most recently, Lapiks laced up his skates in the North American Hockey League (USA Tier-II Junior A) for the Jamestown Rebels.

Lapiks has spent much of his developmental years in Sweden. Last season, he played part of the year with Karlskrona HK in Sweden's top U20 league, SuperElit. In 2016-2017, he played J18 Elit/Allsvenskan with Södertälje SK. Prior, he played for IFK Täby, outside of Stockholm. Lapiks has spent time with three other NAHL clubs, as well: Shreveport Mudbugs, Springfield Jr. Blues, and Brookings Blizzard. The world traveler also played US-Prep for The Gunnery School, in 2017-2018.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, noted,

"Artjoms was in a difficult position, this year, as were many players around the world. His NAHL club ceased operations for the year, and his NCAA team has not played a game, yet. Thus, Artjoms is eager to explore options for the second half of the year, with the intention of attending Buffalo State University in the Fall of 2021. Artjoms is a big forward with good skill and a ton of experience at the highest levels of competition. We look forward to guiding Artjoms through this unique scenario and watching him continue to develop and achieve his goals."

WELCOME TO THE IHM TEAM, artjoms!
