IHM Welcomes NCAA Forward Jeff Thompson
International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of American forward, Jeff Thompson. The Shelburne, Vermont native is a right shot winger, who stands 6’1, and weighs 190lbs. Thompson was born April 30, 1995, and recently finished his four-year career at Connecticut College NCAA Division III. He is looking to continue his career at the European professional level.
The three-time New England Small College Athletic Conference All-Academic Team member ended his Conn College Camels career with a Senior season stat line of: 25GP-3G-3A-6PTS. It was the second time in four seasons that he led the team in Shorthanded Goals, much like he did as a junior in the Eastern Hockey League, when he led the entire league in the category. In his final NCAA go-around, he was selected as the Chip Orcutt Coaches Award Winner. It wasn’t his first time being honored, as he was also named Rookie of the Year in 2016-2017, when he finished second on the squad in Goals (8). Prior to Connecticut College, Thompson attended the Berkshire School, a US-Prep academy.
Thompson’s bench boss, Jim Ward, commented,
"Jeff is a quick-twitch type of player that quickly gets from point A to point B, and ofter arrives with ill-intent. He’s a gritty, unforgiving opponent. His hockey IQ and penalty killing prowess stand out, for me."
International Hockey Management President, Chris White, added,
“Jeff is one of those players that just seems to get the job done. He can turn the momentum of a game, or lift his team’s energy with a single shift. He’s played in a variety of roles in his career, so he has a lot of valuable experience, in that regard. He quickly pressures defenders and does all the dirty work that coaches love. Then, when he gets opportunities to convert, he often knows what to do, and cashes in. We’re excited to facilitate Jeff’s desire to continue his career at the next level.”
Welcome to the IHM Team, Jeff!
