IHM Welcomes Russian Forward Ivan Fishchenko

International Hockey Management is proud to welcome Russian forward, Ivan Fishchenko, to the IHM Team! The 6'2, 207-pound left shot center was born July 19, 1995. Last season, Fishchenko won the VHL Championship with Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk (Ugra).


Fishchenko has over 140 Games Played in Russia's KHL, widely-considered the second-best league in the world. In 2014-2015, Fishchenko made his KHL debut with Avangard Omsk alongside several players with prior or future NHL experience. That same year, Fishchenko earned a silver medal at the IIHF World Junior Championships U20 Tournament. The Russian squad featured current NHLers Ivan Provorov, Igor Shestyorkin, Pavel Buchnevich, Ilya Sorokin, Ivan Barbashyov, in addition to several others who have played parts of their careers in the NHL.


Fishchenko is a product of Omskie Yastreby youth program, in Omsk, Russia. In his 18 year-old season, Fishchenko finished 4th in scoring on a team headlined by current Toronto Maple Leafs forward, Ilya Mikheyev. Fishchenko played over 100 games with the parent club, Avangard Omsk, before playing a season with Admiral Vladivostok. In the last two seasons, Fishchenko has played 28 VHL Playoff games, including raising the Petrov Cup, this year. On April 24, his Ugra club won 2-1 in overtime of Game 5 to beat Metallurg NK.

Ivan is an exciting player in his prime. He's got some goal scoring flare, along with a willingness to fearlessly enter the high traffic areas. His international, KHL, and playoff experience are all huge assets for him as he explores options outside of Russia for the first time in his career.
