He is a youth product of Bofors IK, and eventually made his way into the Färjestad BK organization, where he played J20 SuperElit, and made his SHL debut. Alasaari played for Värmland at TV-pucken, the country's prestigious tournament for the top 15 year olds in each region.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

Jesper is considering his options in and outside of Sweden, this year. He is a big, strong defender that has the ability to make a good first pass or skate the puck, when needed. He excels at separating his man from the puck, and causing turnovers. When given the opportunity, Jesper has shown he can be an asset on the power play, with his heavy shot that he does a good job of getting on net. We are excited to represent Jesper and help him in the next stage of his career.
