IHM Welcomes Swedish Defenseman Joel Melin

by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Swedish defenseman, Joel Melin, who competed for Örnsköldsvik HF in Sweden's HockeyEttan, last season. The 6'1, 185-pound left shot will turn 22 years old on May 17. Melin is originally from Visby, and is looking to continue his professional career in Europe.

Melin is entering his third year in senior hockey, after debuting in 2019-2020 with IFK Arboga in HockeyTvåan. Prior, Melin was a two-year captain of the Visby/Roma J20 squad. The steady defender recorded 43 Points in 61 Games Played from 2017-2019.  In 2018-2019, the team promoted from J20 Division 1 to J20 Elit. Melin was also a two-year member of the Gotland team in the national TV-pucken tournament.

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, commented,

Joel is a young defenseman looking to take the next step in his career. He is a solid puck-moving defender that skates well and is not afraid to play the body in open ice or around his net. Joel showed ability to be a leader and a contributor at both ends of the ice in his J20 career, and is looking for the right opportunity to continue his development and upward progress.

WELCOME TO THE IHM TEAM, Joel!
