IHM Welcomes Swedish Forward Alex Nilsson
International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Swedish forward, Alex Nilsson. The October 4, 2000 left shot is from Munkfors, Sweden, and spent last season in the United States with the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes of the USPHL Premier. The 5’11, 180-pound center is looking to break into the professional ranks in Europe.
Last year, Nilsson was a point-per-game star for the Jr. Canes, recording 41 Points in 41 Games Played, and leading the club with 31 Assists. Nilsson played 47 Games for Mora IK J20 in Sweden’s SuperElit, prior to heading overseas. He was a top performer at the J18 Elit level, where he was also the team’s captain, scoring 48 Points over two seasons. In 2015-2016, Nilsson represented Värmland at Sweden’s infamous TV-pucken showcase for the country’s top fifteen year olds. The same year, Nilsson also played 34 games for IFK Munkfors senior team.
International Hockey Management President, Chris White, said,
“Alex recently came to IHM looking for options, after a bad experience in a very trying off-season. Despite his eligibility to play junior hockey in the US, again, there is no guarantee at this point about a season starting on-time, or even, starting at all. Thus, Alex is looking to take the next step in his career, and play at the professional level in Europe, where there is a bit more certainty about the upcoming season. Alex has played at a high level, in the past, and gained some valuable experience in a crucial role, this year. We’re looking forward to finding Alex an opportunity to continue his development and maintain his upward progression.”
WELCOME TO THE IHM TEAM, alex!
