by Chris White

International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Swedish forward, Jesper Lundqvist. The left shot stands 5’9 and weighs 177 pounds. Lundqvist was born September 24, 1999. The Borlänge, Sweden native is looking to take his game to the collegiate level, after one year of junior hockey in the United States.

In his first season of North American hockey, Lundqvist had a solid debut, recording a stat line of: 45GP-11G-14A-25PTS. Jesper played the slightly-abbreviated season with the Dallas Snipers, of the Tier-II Junior A Western States Hockey League. Prior, he spend his entire career within the Borlänge HF organization, in his hometown. Borlänge sits northwest of Stockholm, and is the home of current and longtime Nashville Predators defenseman, Matthias Ekholm. In 2018-2019, Lundqvist was named an Assistant Captain for the J20 Elit team. Two years prior, he helped the club’s J18 Division 1 team get promoted to J18 Elit.

Dallas Snipers long-time Head Coach & General Manager, Aaron Davis, commented,

"Jesper Lundqvist is one of the most professional players we have had come through the program.  He worked hard on the ice, and even harder off the ice. He was always in the gym after practice, and always wanted to improve his game in any way possible. He listened well, and did whatever was asked of him. He is a great young man, and will have a great future in hockey, and life. We will miss him this upcoming season."

International Hockey Management President, Chris White, added,

"Jesper is a player that you root for, because he has such great work ethic and attitude. I first met Jesper in Sweden, December of 2017. I could tell he was a serious athlete, and dedicated to his own development. After his first year in the US, he is now looking to play at the collegiate level. He actually made some contacts and prepared well, yet still did not have a commitment in-place. Thus, he sought help from IHM. We have made some great progress in a short amount of time, and we are looking forward to being a part of the next stage of this young man's hockey career."
