IHM Welcomes Swedish Forward Simon Appelquist

International Hockey Management is proud to announce the signing of Swedish winger, Simon Appelquist, of Tingsryds AIF in HockeyAllsvenskan. The 6'1, 192-pound right shot was born April 27, 2000 in Gävle, Sweden. The form Brynäs IF youth product just completed his first year of senior hockey.


Appelquist dressed for 15 games, last year, scoring a single goal for Tingsryds AIF in HockeyAllsvenskan; Sweden's second-highest professional league. Appelquist was also loaned out for a handful of HockeyEttan games, suiting up for Mörrums GoIS, Nybro Vikings IF, Hanhals IF, and Strömsbro IF. The skilled youngster made his A-lag debut in 2019-2020, when he played 5 games with Linden Hockey, recording a goal and an assist. Appelquist was a prolific J20 SuperElit scorer, compiling 63 Points in two seasons with Brynäs IF. Impressively, 41 of those Points were Goals. His 33 Points in 2019-2020 were good for third on the team, behind only Oscar Birgersson (Brynäs - SHL) and Oskar Kvist (Brynäs - SHL).


Simon was also a J18 Elit standout, scoring 88 Points in 72 games, including J18 Allsvenskan. This came after 67 Points in 34 U16 Elit & SM competitions. Appelquist featured for Sweden's U16 National Team in 2016, where he registered a goal for Tre Kronor. In 2015-2016, Appelquist was a Top-15 point-getter at the famed TV-pucken tournament, earning 8 Points in 6 Games Played (2 Points behind Rasmus Dahlin).
